This was once said by Benjamin Franklin. So what was his point?
Products aren’t always created equal, take the German built BMW 7 series above versus The Brilliance BS6 made in China. Which would you rather have?
You'll always be able to find something you want at a cheaper price....but what's the real cost?
You may buy something cheap not realising the true value of something more expensive. If you spend £50 on a stereo it stands to reason that it would have cost less than that to make it, cheaper components, plastic finish etc. Make it cheap, sell it cheap....it may not last very long so throw it away and buy another cheap one...and so the cycle begins again.
It's worth investing more money in something as you have an item better made which is higher quality and will last much longer than it's cheaper counterpart. The same applies to people not just products. If you bring to a job a wealth of knowledge and experience you expect to be paid your worth. It wouldn't be particularly motivating to have an employer attempt to drive down your wages or refuse to pay you a bonus just to save their company money when you believe you add value to that company.
Our equipment may seem more expensive from a financial stand point but offers extra value as we focus on the material we use. Heavy duty thick steel, the use of bearings on all moving parts, high quality dense foam with commercial grade upholstery, stainless steel components all add up to give you a very high quality piece of kit which will stand the test of time.
Simply put, you get what you pay for whether it be a car, a pair of jeans or an employee. Oh, and of course commercial gym equipment! ;-)
